How greater is the Mono that is in you than the serpent hiding in the disconnected trees? Just a little bit? Or infinitely? Are you confident that seeking the One you have no "reason" to "fear"? What are the fools afraid of? Of not having a "future", when they don't even have the Present, isn't it? They also can't bear the "thought" of being "left behind" right now, missing out on the "present" everyone else is enjoying. That is, they believe it's real Fun that people are having out there while still in the system.
Either it's All in your head or it's every "thing" you're having, and maybe still believing in and seeking it. That's what you must analyze before regarding anyone's advice as a constructive word. There are not many out there convinced that bringing it "all" down is key to building anything that lasts, are there? What is the only Thing one can get to achieve this type of work? Every "builder" rejects the Stone; some may be doubtful about following in other lost souls' footsteps and secretly seeking It, whereas others are deeply drunk with the lies.
